Educational Background

Dr. Aaron Rosen is a Canadian-trained ophthalmologist with subspecialty training in glaucoma. He earned his medical degree at McGill University and went on to complete a residency in ophthalmology, during which time he served as Chief Resident. Afterwards, he pursued a fellowship in glaucoma at the Université de Montréal.

Prior to this, Dr. Rosen attended York University where he earned a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Specialized Honours Psychology and conducted multiple research projects at the Centre for Vision Research.

Professional Experience

With years of experience, Dr. Rosen specializes in the diagnosis and management of glaucoma and general ophthalmology. He’s worked and conducted research at the Montreal Children’s Hospital, the Montreal General Hospital, the Toronto General Hospital, York University’s Centre for Vision Research, and the Keenan Research Centre for Biomedical Science at St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto.

Dr. Rosen is dedicated to providing his patients with exceptional eye care grounded strongly in evidence-based medicine and guided by a patient-centred approach. He prioritizes lifelong learning and keeps informed of the latest research and technology. As such, he uses advanced diagnostic and therapeutic modalities to ensure the best treatment outcomes for his patients.

Accomplishments and Awards

Dr. Rosen’s work has been recognized through a variety of awards and honours. He was the recipient of the Sean Murphy Research Award from 2018 to 2020 and was honoured by the Canadian Glaucoma Society in 2017 with the Best Glaucoma Paper Award.

He has presented his work at numerous national and international conferences, including for the American Society of Retina Specialists, the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO), and at the McGill Ophthalmology Research Day. Additionally, Dr. Rosen has been featured in various academic journals, such as the Canadian Journal of Ophthalmology. His work has focused on glaucoma, oculoplastics, medical retina, ocular pathology, and retina/posterior segment imaging, among many other topics.
